Dubai attracts visitors year-round, but the combination of climate, local events, and travel demand means prices fluctuate significantly depending on when you go. Here's what you need to know to time your trip for maximum value.
Why Dubai Prices Vary So Much
Dubai has a distinct high and low season driven primarily by temperature:
- October to April: Comfortable weather (20–30°C), peak tourist season, higher prices
- May to September: Extreme heat (38–45°C+), off-peak season, much lower prices
This creates one of the clearest seasonal pricing patterns of any major destination. The question is how much heat you're willing to trade for savings.
Month-by-Month Breakdown
January – February ⭐⭐ (Popular, Higher Prices)
These are the most popular months. Weather is perfect (22–26°C), the Dubai Shopping Festival runs through January, and demand is at its peak. Flights from the UK and Europe are priced accordingly. Expect to pay full rack rates.
March ⭐⭐ (Good Weather, Starting to Rise)
Still excellent weather but slightly less busy than the winter peak. A good compromise if you can get a deal in early March before spring break demand pushes prices up.
April ⭐⭐⭐ (Shoulder Season Beginning)
Temperatures start climbing (up to 35°C by late April), which begins deterring some visitors. Prices start softening. Ramadan may fall in April depending on the year — during Ramadan, restaurants and entertainment operate on reduced hours, which some travellers find limiting.
May ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Good Value, Warm But Manageable)
May represents strong value. Temperatures reach 38–40°C but humidity is still relatively low. Indoor attractions (malls, museums, indoor ski slopes) are excellent. Flights and hotels are noticeably cheaper.
June – August ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Cheapest Flights, Extreme Heat)
This is when Dubai is cheapest. Heat is brutal — 40–45°C with high humidity, especially in July–August. But if you're happy spending mornings in malls, afternoons poolside or in the sea, and evenings exploring when temperatures drop, it can be excellent value. Dubai Summer Surprises (a city-wide promotion) offers discounts at attractions and restaurants.
Flights can be 40–60% cheaper than peak season. For price-conscious travellers who can handle the heat, this is the window.
September ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Still Cheap, Starting to Cool)
Temperatures begin dropping slightly from their August peak. Still hot and humid, but improving. Prices remain low because most travellers haven't returned yet. September can offer near-summer pricing with slightly more bearable weather.
October ⭐⭐⭐ (Sweet Spot)
October is arguably the best balance of price and weather. Temperatures drop to 32–36°C — warm but no longer brutal — and prices haven't yet returned to full peak levels. Book early October for the best combination.
November – December ⭐⭐ (Prices Rising)
Weather is increasingly pleasant as winter approaches, and demand rises accordingly. By November, prices are heading back toward peak levels. The Dubai Airshow (November, odd years) and the run-up to Christmas push prices higher.
